11 indie games that are worth wishlisting
Date: 2025-04-26
Originally this list was 5 games, then it become six, and now it's 11. I found most of them via X, and they are small dev teams or solo developers.
Numbered orders doesn't mean anything, it just for me to keep tabs, how many I have on the list.
1. Liminal Point
Liminal Point is an isometrical survival horror game that has modern graphics, and has a beautiful, but non-fixed camera. Nevermind the very cute female protagonist, and the disgusting monsters. This one will hopefully be at the top of every fan of the genre. Reminds me of Resident Evil and Signalis.
Release date: 2026
What I love about the trailer above is that it's not a perfect gameplay. It shows damage, weapon behavior, and inventory system. If you want something a little more hands-on, check out the Steam Deck trailer. ;)

2. Holstin
Holstin is an interesting survival horror game, where you can rotate the camera in order to solve puzzles, or just to search for items. In combat you will change to an over the shoulder view.
Release date: TBD
> Wishlist "Holstin" on Steam (demo available)
3. Agent 64: Spies Never Die
Never played Golden Eye on the N64, yet this game still caught my eye. I respect developers who pays homage to great games that come before, and this one seems to fill a void.
Release date: TBD

4. Painted In Blood
I first saw this game on X. I discovered plenty of indie games there, but this one really impressed me with its art design. A beautiful FPS, with some retro style, and good gun action.
A sort of a crossover between Realms of the Haunting, Undying and of course Blood.
Release date: TBD
5. Total Chaos
Originally a total conversion for Doom, this is now a full remake in Unreal Engine 5. A couple of weeks ago I played the demo, and it impressed me greatly. Fantastic first person horror title, with some combat and puzzles.
Release date: July 24th 2025
6. Darkenstein 3D
A parody of Wolftenstein 3D, with a hobo whose dog got captured by the Nazis, and he is now searching everywhere, destroying everything in his path. A nice mix between the original Wolfenstein 3D and Return to Castle Wolfenstein.
Release date: TBD
> Wishlist "Darkenstein 3D" on Steam
7. Mouse: P.I. For Hire
What can I say, math was never my strong suit in school. But this one sure is worth it. A cartoonish looking game, with solid shooter mechanics.
Release date: TBD
> Wishlist the "Mouse: P.I. For Hire on Steam
8. Questboard
This is a text based game, but with colorful graphics! ;) I mean you can change the color of the interface, but the illustrations are looking great.
Release date: Q2 2025
9. The Precinct
This is a third person cop simulator, but instead of being in the modern world, this is 1983 and the fictional town of Averno City. We play as a rookie cop, who not just to serve & protect, but wants to know what happened to his father, who died while serving.
Based on the demo, the game is absolutely beautiful, and also atmospheric. As a kid I was growing up on cop shows like "TJ Hooker" and "The Streets of San Francisco" or "Dempsey and Makepeace". Healthy dose of excitement.
The game is a welcome change of not doing another GTA clone, and we are in different shoes this time.
Release date: May 13th 2025

10. Dungeons Deep
Dungeons Deep is a third person fantasy aRPG. Fighting with different monsters and dragons.
Release date: 2025

11. Kook
Another amazing looking retro-style FPS game in a Victorian steampunk setting. Now alone this would land this game on my list, but that shotgun looks mighty fine!
The game is made in Godot, which is a nice change from Unity or Unreal.
Release date: TBD
